I recently discovered that March 13th is World Sleep Day! And the theme this year is: Sleep Well, Live Better.
As someone who discovered the benefits of hypnotherapy when I was struggling with sleep, I can completely get on board with this. Many of my clients have disrupted sleep, and there can be many different reasons for this, from hormones and blood sugar issues, through to stress, so it’s always a good idea to speak to your GP in the first instance if your sleep is causing you problems. Where stress is the main culprit however, hypnotherapy often has a real impact, and improved sleep is often one of the first things my clients report experiencing. This is because one of the main ways we process our experiences is through Rapid Eye Movement sleep or REM (the part where we dream) and when our stress buckets are overflowing, our brains can’t produce enough REM to process it all, so instead, they wake us up (I know, helpful!) Hypnotherapy helps by mimicking REM sleep, and so helps to empty the ‘stress bucket’ in our brains, so that we have more capacity to deal with things at night.
We know that sleep is essential to health and wellbeing. Good sleep promotes wellness and resilience while poor sleep negatively impacts almost all aspects of your body and mind. Your sleep is just as important as nutrition and exercise! So, it’s time to make your sleep health a priority.
To help you do just that, and to celebrate World Sleep Day I’m running a month-long campaign to help you really check in with yourself about your sleep, bring you sleep tips and giving away a free downloadable hypnotherapy recording to help you drop off. Scan the QR code below to join in!
